This is a universal one-off grant of £80 per pupil in Reception to Year Two. It is allocated for the academic year 2020 to 2021 to all schools to help pupils make up for lost teaching time.

We intend to use the COVID-19 catch up premium to enable children to fill gaps in their learning due to missed education through COVID-19.

Reading including phonics

Employing an additional Teaching Assistant across the school to provide 1:1 and small group reading opportunities.  Estimated cost of £13,000.

The impact of the spend will be assessed by monitoring the progress against reading objectives. Prioritising pupils that are not on track to meet their ambitious predictions.

Wellbeing

Additional hours for the SENDCO to support children and families on their return to school. Organising additional social and emotional therapeutic activities to remove barriers to learning in the classroom.  Additional support staff to deliver extra small group social and emotional activities.  Estimated cost of £11,036.

The impact of the spend will be assessed by the Senior Leadership Team closely monitoring vulnerable children and families.
