Welcome to Ilfracombe Infant & Nursery School

100th anniversary

The school was officially opened as Secondary School on May 7th 1909. In 1972 the school changed from a secondary school to an Infants School. In 1998 the Infants School was remodelled with the addition of 10 new classrooms and a hall, thanks to the commitment and the drive of our previous Head teacher, Mary Trewin. All of the old classrooms were demolished but the main part of the old school building remained with the dinner hall, school offices, four classrooms and a library.

Ilfracombe Infant and Nursery School is one of the largest infant schools in the county of Devon, with 362 children under 7 years on roll. We cater for all children in the area as we are the only infant school!

We believe schools should help children develop their skills and personality fully, teach them about their own and other people's rights and prepare them for adult life.

We hope you find our site informative and enjoyable.
