Family Learning

At our school we firmly believe in involving parents and carers in the process of their children's learning. Family learning is an important way for children to connect their school and home lives and for parents and carers to understand more fully the learning their children are involved with at school. As such, we often open up learning opportunities for adults to get involved in fun, enjoyable inter-generational activities that help raise standards, promote life long learning, improve self confidence, self esteem and enhance family relationships and cohesion.

These activities offer parents and children an opportunity to learn together. Parents enjoy the time they can spend with their children away from the pressures of family life and children value this experience too and grow in confidence.

Alongside this we welcome parents and carers into the classroom and value deeply the commitment, drive and enhanced learning that family members bring to the classroom when they can assist in the children's learning.
