What are SATS?

SATS (Standard Assessment Tests) are given to children at the end of Year 2.  They are used to show children’s progress compared with other children born in the same year.   They take place at the end of May and during June before they transfer to the junior school.  Each child’s test is teacher assessed in: Reading, Writing (which includes handwriting and spelling), Maths (which includes number, shape, space and measurement) and Science.

Level 2B is the National average for children to attain when they leave Year 2.

Children who achieve 2A and 3 are working above National expectations.

Children who achieve 2C and Level 1 are working below National expectations.

Children who achieve WT are still working towards the National Curriculum for Key Stage 1.
