If you go down to the woods today..... you're sure of a big surprise!
Sorry everybody, it has been a while since we last added a post. Hoping to get back in the swing of it now. Here are some pictures from our very exciting visit to Chapel Woods. What an exciting day we had! The sun was shining, the birds were singing and the wolves were howling! We had a fantastic time story telling, den building and sneaking through the woods! We build dens using twigs and leaves found on the floor. We played chasing games on the field. Half the class dressed as Little Red Riding Hood and the rest of the class acted as wolves and chased us. The best fun was rolling down the hill to see who could get to the bottom first. Please look at our pictures to see all the fun we had!

Shared LRRH writing

After acting our the story in the woods we came back to school and wrote the story of Little Red Riding Hood in our own words with a partner. We talked about how we would sequence the story and what story language we would use. There was lots of negotiation to get a story both children were happy with. I was really proud of the way the children collaborated and listened to each other to get the task done.
